Increasing the conflict between Iran and Israel, the Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) said on Tuesday that Indian students in Tehran have been taken out of the city for security causes.

It states that other Indians who can manage to leave the city on their own, have been advised to move the city in view of the developing situation.

In a press release, Mea said, “Indian students in Tehran have been taken out of the city for safety reasons, through the arrangements made by the embassy. Other residents who are sufficient in the matter of transport have also been advised to go out of the city in view of developing conditions.”

According to the statement, some Indians have been allowed to leave Iran through the border with Iran and the embassy is in touch with the community to expand all feasible assistance.

The MEA said, “The embassy is constantly in touch with the community to increase all viable assistance. Further advice can be issued in view of the fluid position.”

The conflict between Israel and Iran entered the fifth day on Tuesday, with the two sides trading missile strikes. Civil attacks face waves in major areas. CNN reported that at least 224 people have been killed in Iran since the hostility started, while 24 people have been killed in Israel.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Iran has asked all Indian citizens who are in Tehran and are not in contact with the embassy to contact India’s embassy in Tehran immediately and provide their location and contact number.
