New Delhi: Global maritime experts and naval leaders will discuss strategies for a more secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific at the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue 2025 to be hosted by the Indian Navy later this month, an official said on Saturday.
The three-day event, starting October 28, will focus on key issues including capacity-building and capacity-enhancement, maritime security and strategic coordination, blue economy, climate resilience, disaster preparedness, technology, connectivity and future infrastructure, an Indian Navy spokesperson said.
“Organised by the #IndianNavy with knowledge partner #NationalMaritimeFoundation (NMF), IPRD 2025 is India’s premier international conference on maritime strategy, diplomacy and cooperation,” the spokesperson said in a social media post.
“The Indo-Pacific is changing rapidly. #Maritime security challenges, climate change and supply-chain disruption are reshaping the region – demanding new ideas, stronger partnerships and better strategies,” he said.
The Navy spokesperson said that at the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue 2025, global maritime experts, naval leaders, policy makers and strategic thinkers will come together to build capacity and enhance capacity for a resilient, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
He said that the conference will be organized on 28-30 October at Manekshaw Center in Delhi.
Earlier on Friday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the historic and strategic naval facility HMAS Kuttabul in Sydney as part of his official visit to Australia.
Sharing the update in a post on social media platform X, Singh said he was familiar with Sydney Harbor’s facilities on Admiral Hudson.
“Visited HMAS Kuttabul, a historic and strategic naval facility in Sydney today. The Admiral was introduced to the impressive facilities in Sydney Harbor on the Hudson. Both countries will benefit from deepening India-Australia naval cooperation and coordinated maritime domain awareness in the Indo-Pacific region,” the Defense Minister posted.
In a post on Twitter, Defense Australia announced on Friday: “Australia-India defense relations have advanced during the visit of India’s Defense Minister, @RajnathSingh. The inaugural Australia-India Defense Ministers’ Dialogue held at Parliament House reflects our commitment to enhancing our partnership with India and deepening defense cooperation.”
“The new bilateral arrangement will establish joint staff dialogue between our defense forces and expand military cooperation. As top-tier security partners, Australia and India are committed to working together to help maintain Indo-Pacific stability,” the post said.
