New Delhi, October 23 (IANS) The Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army, dedicated to the courage, discipline and patriotism of soldiers, is organizing the ‘Saddle Born Warriors’ motorcycle rally from October 26 to November 1.
According to defense officials, “This rally is dedicated to the courage, discipline and patriotism of Indian soldiers.”
The objective of this initiative is to keep alive the memory of their supreme sacrifices while inspiring the young generation with a sense of duty and national pride.
The event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the supreme sacrifice made by four gallant soldiers of 5 Assam Rifles who laid down their lives defending their motherland at the Tulung La border pass in Arunachal Pradesh on October 20, 1975.
PRO Defense said, “His indomitable bravery and unwavering commitment inspire generations even today.”
Traffic in Assam and cantons on Assam becomes Bhakadila, Tengah, Bombalog, Mago, Mago, Tulung and Jang.
“At each leg of the journey, the participants will pay homage at war memorials en route, honoring the courage and sacrifice of India’s martyred heroes,” the official said.
The rally seeks to promote courage, unity and teamwork among the participants as well as showcase the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of West Kameng.
Additionally, it aims to raise awareness about road safety and promote responsible driving.
This initiative of Gajraj Corps exemplifies the guiding principle of the Indian Army – “Seva Paramo Dharma (Service is the Highest Duty)” and serves as a source of inspiration for all citizens.
Notably, as part of the Fit India initiative, the Indian Army in coordination with the ITBP successfully conducted a 20 km combined cycle rally in Aalo, West Siang, Arunachal. This rally was organized on 21 October this year.
According to PRO Defence, the event highlighted the synergy, interoperability and operational camaraderie between the two forces while promoting physical fitness and endurance among the service personnel.
The rally was attended by Army and ITBP officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks, who covered the challenging 20 km route together.
