Indian Army launched Operation Shiva 2025 to ensure safe conduct of Amarnath Yatra

The Indian Army has launched ‘Operation Siva 2025’ in a close coordination with civil administration and Central Armed Police Forces to ensure smooth and safe conduct of Amarnath Yatra.

The purpose of this annual high-existing operation is to provide a strong security architecture with both the northern and southern travel routes, especially in the light of an increased threat from the Pakistan-supported screen after the operation vermilion.

As part of this year’s increased security structure, more than 8,500 soldiers have been deployed, supported by a wide range of technical and operational resources. A dynamic counter-attentive grid, anti-pathogram safety and corridor conservation measures have been installed. Civil officers are also being provided extensive assistance, especially in disaster management and emergency response.

The Indian Army’s efforts include the installation of a counter-UAS grid with each 50 C-UAS and EW system to neutralize drone hazards. An official release read, “Regular UAV missions and live monitoring of yatra routes and holy cave. Engineer Task Force for Bridge Construction, Track Widening and Disaster Mitigation.”

The Indian Army has arranged more than 150 doctors and medical personnel, with two advanced dressing stations, nine medical aid posts, a 100-bed hospital and 26 oxygen booths supported by 2,00,000 liters of oxygen.

“Signal companies for seamless communication, EME troops for technical assistance, and bomb detection and disposal squads. 25,000 individuals, QRT, tent cities, water points and bulldozers and excavators including emergency ration for plant equipment including bulldozers and excavators,” informed about the deployment by the Indian Army.

The Indian Army helicopters remain on standby for any casual response.

The Indian Army is using advanced technology to ensure a strong security structure during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. By applying live tracking of the convoy of the journey between Jammu and the holy cave, the army is maintaining constant statusal awareness through high-resolution PTZ cameras and drone feeds.

The real-time update on the convoy movement is being monitored to pre-end any danger, while the spontaneous multi-agency coordination ensures rapid response and effective security management throughout the route.
