The Indian Army has taken special training for members of the village defense groups (VDG) in Novashera area of Rajouri district of Jammu and Rajouri district of Kashmir on 22 April.
According to a release, training is an important step to increase security with sensitive border areas and initiative is part of the army’s ongoing efforts to empower local communities and increase border security.
Training sessions, which are held from time to time, focus on overall preparation to address major areas such as weapons handling, strategic reaction and emerging conditions.
Army personnel provided wide guidance to VDG members during training to ensure that they are equipped with the skills required to support security forces and to protect their villages effectively.
Officials said the cooperation between the Indian Army and the local defense groups is important in strengthening the security structure in the border areas.
The Indian Army reiterated its commitment to empower local communities through professional training, regular practice and strategic guidance. The purpose of this collaboration is to create a well -prepared local defense network that can work rapidly and efficiently in case of any safety threat.
