India’s stance
India has consistently maintained that the ceasefire agreement was not brokered by any third country, including the United States.

The government has also reiterated that New Delhi does not accept third party mediation on issues related to Pakistan.
Indian officials had earlier said that the ceasefire was reaffirmed after direct communication between the military leadership of both sides, in line with existing agreements.
