After the Pahalgam terror attack, BJP leader Ravinder Raina said on Monday that people in India along with Jammu and Kashmir have also rejected terrorism, warning that any threat to India’s unity will face strong vengeance.
Talking to ANI, Raina said, “After a cowardice attack in Pahgam, Pakistan, the whole of Jammu and Kashmir have been taken to the streets. The whole of India is expressing grief and anger across India. This terrorist attack has been strongly condemned around the world.”
Highlighting the political response to the incident, Raina mentioned that a special session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was called, during which a resolution condemning the terrorist attack in Pahgam was passed. He further said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been united in rejecting Pakistan-respected terrorism.
“A special session of the J&K assembly was called, and the terrorist attack in Pahalgam was condemned. A resolution against this terrorist attack was passed in the J&K assembly. People from Jammu and Kashmir have come together in a voice to reject Pakistan’s terrorism. The terrorist attack,” said Raina.
He said, “Through the passage of the resolution, the Legislative Assembly has given a clear message that India will not tolerate any attempt to harm its security, unity and integrity. The Legislative Assembly has said that if anyone challenges security, unity and integrity, the country will not tolerate it. Earlier on Monday, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly adopted a resolution condemning the April 22 terror attack in Pahgam during a special session. The resolution was transferred to express strong rejection of the attack and to expand solidarity to the victims and their families.
According to the resolution document, “This house expresses its deep shocks and suffering in barbaric and inhuman attacks on innocent citizens in Pahgam. This house condemns unevenly heinous, cowardly task, resulting in loss of innocent life.”
Sankalp also recognized the sacrifice of martyr Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who gave his life while trying to save tourists during the attack.
“This house salutes the highest sacrifice of martyr Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who attempted to save tourists with bravery, determines his life. His courage and selflessness embodiment the true spirit of Kashmir and will work as a permanent inspiration for future generations,” Sankalp will work. (AI)
