India has dropped drug cartel with brutal aggression under PM Modi leadership: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has said that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is falling down the drug cartel with brutal aggression.

“Bharat is lowering drug cartel with cruel aggression. NCB’s Amritsar Zonal Unit has rinse drug drug diversion cartel through a 4 -month long operation in four states, which is seizing drugs worth Rs 547 crore and arresting 15. X.

The government is a major step towards the government’s zero tolerance approach against drugs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 1.36 crore psychotropic bullets from a distributor in Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. NCB has also seized 11,693 CBCs bottles and 2.9 kg tramdol powder from a manufacturer in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The total value of the seized drugs is about Rs. 547 crores.

In following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intoxication Mutt Mutt Bharat, the Amritsar zonal unit of NCB has busted the major networks involved in illegal turns and distribution of drug drugs for non-medical use in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi.

Under the guidance of Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, a top-to-tall and bottom-to-top approach to investigate cases from a constant intelligence-operated operation and from April 2024 to April 2025 revealed a complex Nexus between manufacturers, stockists and front operators for significant tour and arrest.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, raids were conducted in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi on 20-21 April 2025. As a result of the discovery in Uttarakhand, 11,693 CBCS bottles and 2.9 kg tramdol powder were seized from JR Pharmaceuticals.

As a result of the discovery in the premises of Major distributor, Embit Bio Medics, Himachal Pradesh, 19,25,200 bullets were seized, and the discovery was made in the premises of Ashi Pharmaceutical, Bawana, Delhi, resulting in a seizure of 15 -million tables of Traimdol and Alprazolam. The ministry said that on 18 April, the owner of Embit Bio Medics was arrested earlier, trying to flee to Vietnam at Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi.

The investigation has revealed that the owner of Embit Bio Medics, Himachal Pradesh first operated in Delhi, where his drug license was canceled in December 2022. Hiding this, he obtained a new license in Himachal Pradesh and also launched another firm in Delhi, which was registered under the Ashshi Pharmacell of a colleague.

The investigation began four months ago when a person implemented to a medical professional was intercepted with 2,280 alprazolam and 1,220 traumadol tablets in Amritsar.

Further investigation exposed a local distribution chain, leading to several arrests and follow -up discoveries, resulting in over 21,400 traumadol tablets and 43,000 Alprazolam Tablet.

In another case, in February 2025, a separate seizure of 5,000 traumadol hydrochloride (TREKM-100) bullets in Amritsar led investigators to investigators for a series of investigators in Taran Taran Taran, Dehradun and Manwala. The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the Source Trail pointed to the illegal supply of drugs by individuals working without a valid license supported by dummy medical setup.

The investigation in both cases revealed the participation of the same pharmaceutical manufacturing company, which is a JR Pharmaceutical located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, due to which doubt has been done and through investigation so far, M/S JR Pharmaceutical, Heridwar and others have revealed a large scale of pharmaceutical medicine.

16,860 traumadol tablets, 327 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup, and 2.55 million loose tramdol tablets (80.7 kg) were hidden in drums due to follow-up raids conducted in JR Pharmaceuticals in February 2025. In the same month and raids, based on the information provided during interrogation, the seizure of 8,89,064 CBCS bottles was conducted without valid documents, which was allegedly for diversion.

Further investigation revealed that many front stockist firms were found to be fake or non-interested, and drugs were bended using them. One such firm, Tiwari Medical Agency, Dehradun, was found on verification to be a sweet/tailor shop, and the proprietor was found to work as a maid. In contrast, other firms, Kavati Health Care Private Limited, Dehradun, and Life Care Pharma, Kolkata, were non-existed at the declared address.

The mastermind behind the Dummy Stockist Tiwari Medical Agency was arrested, from which there were 1.24 lakh Alprajolam bullets from Dhaba, a roadside in Dehradun. Investigation revealed that they were getting medicines from other firms, as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The NCB is actively coordinating to highlight the entire range of drug diversion networks with GST department, state drug controllers, income tax officials, CBNs and financial institutions.

The investigation conducted so far has caused 1.42 crore traumadol and alprazolam tablets, 2.9 kg tramdol powder, and 9,01,084 CBCS bottles (about 135 tonnes) and arrest of 15 accused from 04 different states in the last four months. The involvement of others is also revealed during the investigation, and more seizures are expected in the next few weeks.
