India block leaders prepared to call today, demand for special parliament session: source

Web Desk, 03/06/2025

Block leaders of a group of India are expected to gather at the Constitution Club on Tuesday to demand a special Parliament session. More than 200 MPs from the Lok Sabha signed a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding a special session.

The meeting will be represented by Congress MP Deepender Hooda. According to sources, a media briefing will be held at 12:30 pm.

Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Kumar Jha wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he urged him to call a special session of Parliament to discuss the recent border military operations against Pakistan.

In his letter, Jha said that the people of India feel that they are “being kept in darkness,” and it is worth clarity on the decisions of the government and their widespread impact. “I am writing you to call you a special session of Parliament to discuss the recent border operations against Pakistan, its implications and further routes.” He said that citizens demand “transparency, accountability and accountability”.

He expressed concern over the statements of US President Donald Trump, who allegedly claimed credit for the mediation of peace talks between India and Pakistan. “United States President Donald Trump has claimed credit for peace for peace between India and Pakistan that no less than twelve times since the operation began.” Reads the letter.

He concluded the letter, saying that the government’s refusal to hold a special session so far could indicate an attempt to avoid lack of confidence in their own version of events, both of them said, he said, he said, he is harmful to the country.

The letter reads, “The government’s reluctance to call a particular session so far either suggests or intentionally suggested the lack of self -assurance in its own story. Neither serves national interests,” reads the letter.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress chief Mallikrajun Kharge demanded a special session of Parliament related to Operation Sindoor, alleging that the government “misled the nation” and instead of clarifying the claim of US President Donald Trump, instead of clarifying the claim of US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an election blitz, which takes personal credibility for the valor of Sarev forces “.

In a post on X, Kharge asked what were the conditions for ending enmity between India and Pakistan. He said, “Has India and Pakistan now become hyphen again? What are the conditions of the ceasefire agreement? 140 crore patriotic Indians are worth knowing,” he said.

The Congress is demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss the Pahgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.

Additionally, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged the Union Government to call a special session of Parliament on the safe return of the delegation, assuming that it is the most important right to inform the people of this great nation about the recent struggle, referring to the military conflict between India and Pakistan.

In a post on social media platform X, CM Mamata Banerjee said, “I urge the Central Government to call a special session of Parliament on a safe return of the delegation, as I believe that people of this great nation have the most important right to inform the recent struggle and developments.”

Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary MA Baby also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which he urged to call a special session of Parliament to address the de-size of enmity with Pakistan.

On 7 May, India launched Operation Sindoor on 22 April as a decisive military response for the Pahgam terror attack by Pakistan-respected militants on 22 April in which 26 people were killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing more than 100 militants associated with terrorist organizations such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Following India’s strike on the terrorist infrastructure, Pakistan attempted drone attacks that targeted civil areas along with cross-border firing across the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir and International Border. In response, India neutralized Pakistani air defense equipment, radar infrastructure and communication centers, and caused heavy damage to 11 airbase in Pakistan.

Subsequently, on May 10, an understanding was announced at the end of enmity between India and Pakistan. (AI)
