Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday confirmed India’s intensive strategic and economic association with Africa, described the India and the African Union as partners in the progress and pillars of the global South.
Speaking during the visit of Angle’s President Joao Manuel Gonclaves Lauranco, PM Modi, along with the expansion of India with African countries, binds $ 100 billion business, $ 12 billion in credit lines, and increased cooperation in defense, maritime security and digital infrastructure.
Addressing a joint press briefing with the Angaolan president, PM Modi said, “India and African Union are partners in the progress and columns of the global South. Under Angola’s presidential post, India’s strength and African Union’s partnership will be stronger. In the last 10 years, India has gained momentum in cooperation with African dances.
Trade has reached about 100 billion USD. We have improved defense cooperation and marine security. Last month, its first navy in India and Africa was maritime exercise. ,
He said, “In the last 10 years, we have opened 17 new embassies in Africa. A $ 12 billion credits have been opened for Africa. African countries have also been provided USD 700 million in grants.
We have opened vocational training centers in eight countries in Africa. We are assisting in the construction of digital public infrastructure in five countries. ,
He also thanked Angola for his support in the fight against cross-border terrorism, which was against threats against United Global Action.
“We are committed to taking strong and decisive action against terrorists and those who support them. We thank Angola in our fight against across the border.
PM Modi also extended his wishes to Angola for the chairmanship of the African Union.
PM Modi said, “On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, I wish Angola wishes under the chairmanship of the African Union. It is a matter of pride for us that during India’s G20 President’s post, the African Union got permanent membership of G20,” PM Modi said.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi met President Lauranco at Hyderabad House.
Along with PM Modi, External Affairs Minister’s Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, a bilateral meeting was also held with President Lauranco at Hyderabad House. (AI)
