The prisons department, jammu and kashmir have taken note of a news item titled Uzma on 01 August 2025.
The department has clarified that the data and claims presented in the said report are not factually correct and there is a possibility of misinformation among the readers. While some prisons have a slight shortage of employees, the estimated rapid decrease in the news items is misleading and does not reflect the real situation on the ground.
It is further informed that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure smooth functioning and security of all jails in the center area. Apart from regular jail staff, the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) has also been deployed.
