US President Donald Trump has once again reiterated his claim that he stopped the recent Indo-Pakistan struggle after the Pahalgam terror attack, stating that he “stopped five wars in the last five months”, which includes one of the two countries.
Trump made a statement within just 20 days of repeating his previous claim that the US helped the broker in a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
He made this comment during a press conference at the White House, originally called to discuss the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Trump said he is working to end the ongoing struggle, which he refers to as “war of biden”.
“This is the war of Biden, and we are working very hard to take us out. I stopped five wars in the last five months, in fact, and I would like it the sixth, clearly,” he said.
He further claimed that he had successfully stopped conflicts between nations including India and Pakistan. He said, “Almost each of the other people with whom I stayed with a few days, including India and Pakistan. And I could go into the entire list, but you also know along with the list,” he said.
In July, Trump made the same comment during his meeting with NATO general secretary Mark Rute.
Trump said, “We have been very successful in settling wars, India, Pakistan … India. By the way, Pakistan would have been a nuclear war within another week, the way it was going. It was going on very badly,” said Trump.
He used his strategy of using business as leverage and said, “We did this through business. I said, we are not going to talk to you about business, until you resolve this thing, and they did it.”
Trump has repeatedly claimed Credit to prevent enmity between India and Pakistan following the effective response of New Delhi to Islamabad, after accurate attacks on the terrorist infrastructure.
However, India denied the claims made by the US President, reiterating their policy that India and Pakistan bilaterally addressed any cases related to the center region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Trump recently announced a 25 percent mutual tariff on India and an unspecified punishment for importing oil from Russia.
“India is not only buying Russian oil on a large scale, for most of the oil purchased oil, selling it on the open market for large profits. They do not care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by Russian war machine. Because of this, I will increase the tariffs paid by India to the USA to a great extent. The US President said in the post.
A few hours after increasing the tariff in India, Trump said on Tuesday that he would increase the tariffs imposed on imports at a current rate of 25 percent from India in the next 24 hours due to continuous purchase of new Delhi.
“They are fueling the war machine, and if they are going to do so, I am not going to be happy,” Reuters described Trump’s CNBC interview. (AI)
