New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tech billionaire Elon Musk today talked about an American-India partnership in the fields of technology and innovation. Earlier this year, the two leaders found in Washington pushed forward their discussion, including Mr. Musk’s auto and tech firms – such as Tesla and Starlink – Investing in India.
These regions have “immense potential” for cooperation between India and the United States, PM Modi said, India is committed to advancing the partnership between New Delhi and Washington in these domains.
“Talked to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the subjects involved during their meeting earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential of cooperation in the fields of technology and innovation. India is committed to advancing our partnership with the US in Domain,” PM Modi wrote in the X -another firm.
The phone call between PM Modi and Elon Musk comes at a time when the United States and China are engaged in a fierce trade war, either the country has implemented a tariff to punish the other – 245 percent on all the Chinese exports of the US and on all US imports on all US imports, China’s already existing 67 percent of the existing 67 percent of the tariff above its existing 67 percent tariffs.
These tight-for-tat mutual and anti-anti-tariffs have had a serious impact on the industry, as China and the United States are the two largest manufacturing nations globally. Most of the US top tech firms manufacture most of their products in China, and tariffs have sent the owners of the technical field to discover alternative destinations to manufacture their goods.
India, which is an established manufacturing sector in technology and auto industry, faces 26 percent mutual tariff imposed by President Trump, is now looking as a favorable option for technical firms. For Elon Musk’s Tesla, the story is no different.
