IMD predicts storm in Madhya Pradesh, Goa; The sky will be mainly clear in Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning of widespread thunderstorm activity with lightning and strong winds over many areas of the country on Monday, November 3. With this weather pattern, there will be a gradual decline in minimum temperatures in many areas in the next few days.

These conditions are likely to be influenced by a fresh Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayan region from November 4.

According to the weather agency, the low pressure area over the north-east Arabian Sea has become less marked, but the associated cyclonic circulation remains intact.

Meanwhile, a low pressure area persists over east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Myanmar coast and is expected to move north-northwestwards along Myanmar and Bangladesh coasts in the next 24 hours.

Sky will be mainly clear with mist/light fog in Delhi

Delhi is likely to have mainly clear sky with mist/light fog, especially in the morning. On Monday, the maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to be 30-32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 16-18 degrees Celsius.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi recorded AQI in the very poor category at 309 at 10 am on Monday.

IMD predicts dense fog and drop in temperature in UP

For Uttar Pradesh, IMD has issued an alert of fog and drop in temperature in many districts. As winter slowly sets in, many parts of the state may soon experience cool mornings and fog.

On November 3, the weather is expected to remain dry over both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh with light to moderate fog at some places. There is no forecast of rain or strong winds during this period. Similar dry and clear weather is expected on November 4, 5 and 6, while the conditions will continue till November 7 and 8.

There is a possibility of rain and thunder in many areas

Over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) are likely till November 5. On November 3 and 4, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning over western Madhya Pradesh.

Within western India, specific areas will also be affected during the same period. Notably, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning over Marathwada on November 3, while the same is expected over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on November 5.

Over northwest India, the weather is expected to be more active on November 4, with Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (speed up to 40-50 kmph); There is forecast of storm and lightning in Uttarakhand also on this day.

Additionally, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning over Himachal Pradesh on both November 4 and 5.

Light to moderate rain in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely at many places over Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the period from November 4 to November 6. Then the activity turns slightly north and west, with similar light to moderate rain and thundershowers very likely at many places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka from November 5 to November 7.

Over Northwest India, no significant change in minimum temperatures is expected during the next 72 hours, followed by a gradual decline of 3-4 degrees during the subsequent 3-4 days. Similarly, Central India is unlikely to see significant change in minimum temperatures in the next 48 hours, with a gradual decline of 3-5 degrees expected during the next 3-4 days. Lastly, West India is also expected to see no significant change in minimum temperatures during the next 48 hours, followed by a gradual decline of 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next 2-3 days.
