Foreign Minister K Jaishankar on Thursday reiterated India’s claim on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), saying that the region underlines a historical context of India, which had joined India in Jammu and Kashmir during partition in 1947.

During an interview with “de Woxkent” in the Netherlands, Jishankar said, ‘For Jammu and Kashmir, it is a historical fact that it joined India when India and Pakistan separated in 1947. Our situation is that illegal occupants should return their illegally occupied parts to the correct owner. And that is us. ,

Also he condemned terrorism, saying that “no, terrorism for us is an independent, completely unacceptable international crime that should not be condensed or justified.”

“Terrorists targeted the vibrant tourist industry in Jammu and Kashmir with their attacks. So they are ready to destroy things for their own, very limited, selfish purposes in Kashmir. They also deliberately gave the attack a very religious tint (Hindu vs Muslim, ad). The world should not accept such practices.”

Jaishankar also clarified that the Kashmir issue is a “bilateral issue” between India and Pakistan, which is rejecting any resolution of mediation by the international community. “No, this is a bilateral issue among the countries involved,” Jaishankar said insisting on India’s stand on the matter.

Emphasizing India’s aspirations to expand its manufacturing capabilities, citing new technology as a possible entry point.

“Our hope is really that the manufacture of products in India will increase and we will be more integrated in global production chains. The new technology may be an entry point.
