Ilhan Omar’s daughter became homeless after the suspension of Barnard College

Isra Hirsi, the daughter of Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, said she was homeless and had no place to live after she was suspended over anti-Israel protests on Thursday. The US lawmaker said he was proud of his daughter after she was arrested for pro-Palestinian protests.

Some of the protesting students were suspended from their college boarding after they refused to walk out and sit in camps at the prestigious Ivy League college on Thursday.

“I was a little nervous, like, where am I going to sleep? Where am I going?” Hirsi said Teen Vogue Reaction to his ban from college housing.

“I don’t know when I can go home, and I don’t know if I ever will,” added 21-year-old Hearsey, a third-year college student.

She blamed the college administration for keeping her hungry and homeless, saying, “Hey, I trust the campus for my food, I trust my meal plan”.

Hirsi, along with hundreds of members of the anti-Israel student group, Apartheid Divest, were protesting on campus last week.

The suspended students, along with the congresswoman’s daughter, were given warnings to vacate the lawn before NYPD escorted them away.

“I just received notice that I am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing genocide,” Isra wrote on X on Thursday before the police crackdown.

Hirsi said he was kept in police custody for eight hours, which was uncomfortable.

He also claimed that Barnard’s president, Laura Rosenbury, took a hard line on students.

After her daughter’s arrest, Congresswoman Omar said she was “so proud” of her daughter.
