Patna, Nov 11 (IANS) Amid voting for the second phase of Bihar assembly elections, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday appealed to voters to support the NDA to maintain the pace of development. Speaking to IANS, Manjhi said, “My appeal to the voters of Bihar is that the way there is a double engine government here, all the records of development are being broken and good work is being done, people should support the NDA to maintain this momentum. If we make a mistake, the progress will be derailed, and all the development work will come to a halt, due to which we will be left with nowhere. I am confident that the NDA government will be formed again.” The second phase of voting in Bihar is taking place in 122 constituencies spread across 20 districts, with voting scheduled from 7 am to 6 pm. This phase is important as it will significantly influence which party or coalition will form the next government in the state. Election officials have set up 45,399 polling stations to ensure smooth polling with tight security measures at sensitive booths. About 3.7 crore voters, including 1.95 crore men and 1.74 crore women, are eligible to vote in this phase. Counting of votes for all 243 assembly constituencies is scheduled to take place on November 14, when the results will determine the next government of Bihar. –IANS rs/dpb
