Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reiterated India’s firm stance on the conversation with Pakistan, stating that any future discussion would be limited to terrorism and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).
In his address to the nation after Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said, “Today, I would also like to tell the global community that our announced policy has been: If there is talks with Pakistan, it will only be on terrorism; and if there is talks with Pakistan, it will only be on Pakistan-Oskid Kashmir (Poke).”
Prime Minister Modi warned that it could collapse with the support of Pakistan for terrorism. He said that it is impossible to achieve peace without destroying terrorist infrastructure.
He said, “The way the Pakistani Army and the Government of Pakistan are encouraging terrorism, it will one day destroy Pakistan. If Pakistan wants to survive, it will have to destroy its terrorist infrastructure structure. There is no other way of peace,” he said.
India launched a surgical strike on a terrorist launch pad with LoC in 2016 and an aerial strike at a terrorist camp in Pakistan in 2019.
On April 22, twenty -six people were killed in a arrogant terrorist attack in Pahgam. India responded through Operation Sindoor and launched accurate attacks on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POK), killing more than 100 terrorists.
The latter aggression by Pakistan was appropriately responded by the Indian Armed Forces, who also extended the aerial status of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister had earlier said that the criminals of the Pahalgam terror attack would have to face punishment beyond their imagination.
India had taken several steps to send a strong message to Pakistan for their support to cross terrorism and put the Indus Water Treaty in the time.
India and Pakistan came to an understanding of Pakistan’s DGMO on Saturday at their Indian counterpart, Lieutenant General Rajiv Gai on firing and stagnation of military action after a call by Pakistan’s DGMO.
Lieutenant General Gai, who interacted with the media at a joint press conference on Sunday, said his Pakistan counterpart proposed during a conversation on Saturday that “we stop hostility”.
“My communication with Pak DGMO was held tomorrow (Saturday) at 15:35 pm and as a result, firing and air infiltration from both sides from May 10 at 17:00 was abolished, on May 10, he proposed that we would decide to talk about 12:00 pm on May 12 to move forward to advance hostility.
He said, “However, hopefully, expected, it took only a few hours for the Pakistan Army to violate these arrangements across the border and the Line of Control (LoC), followed by the drone infiltration in the early hours last night and today (today). These violations were strongly responded to.”
Lieutenant General Gai said his counterpart was informed about the violation through a hotline message. India made its intention clear that if it is repeated, it would respond to the same “terrible”, for which the Chief of the Army has given full authority to the army commanders.
The generals of the military operations (DGMOS) of India and Pakistan also held talks on Monday. (AI)
