Ideal of truth, non -violence, ‘Satyagraha’ should always be a source of inspiration for us

Bengaluru, 2 October (IANS) AICC President Mallikrajun Kharge greeted on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on Thursday and said that the ideals of truth, non -violence, ‘Satyagraha (passive political resistance)’ always remain a source of inspiration for us.

Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, Congress chief Kharge said, “Truth stands, even if there is no public support. It is self -sufficient.”

Kharge took the X, further said, “Ideal of truth, non-violence, and Satyagraha-which showed the path of peace to the whole world-always will remain a source of inspiration for us, as the great architect of the Indian independence movement and the ‘father of the nation’, was taught by Mahatma Gandhi.”

Kharge said, “Today, as his principles face challenges, we are facing the path shown by Bapu, following the path directed by his teachings.

Union Heavy Industry and Steel Minister, HD Kumaraswamy said, “While showing the path of truth and non -violence for the world and maintaining a true and royal system of governance, I remember that Mahatma Gandhi, with the guide of humanity, light, supreme reverence and devotion.

“On this day of Bapu ji’s birth anniversary – which remains a timeless inspiration, awareness and ideal for us, I pay my heartfelt tribute.”

On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the world also observes the International Day of International Non -Violence.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayati, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid a garland and floral tribute to the statue of the ‘father of the nation’ at Mahatma Gandhi Circle, Marzuru, and later spoke to the media.

He said, “On October 2, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated. Today, his birth anniversary is celebrated all over the country and we are trying to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and follow his way.”

Mahatma Gandhi led the freedom struggle of the country and he is one of the leading person who brought freedom in this country, CM Siddaramaiah said.

“If we are enjoying freedom, it is due to their leadership, sacrifices and martyrdom. I pray that we all should walk their way and give people the strength to follow them,” said CM Siddaramaiah.

“On this occasion, we are also celebrating the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. I will pray for his soul. He was the most honest person. I pray that God dare us to move forward on the path shown by him,” CM Siddaraiya said.

“Incidentally, this year, 2 October matches the Vijaya Dashami Festival. I am a warm greeting for everyone on the occasion,” said CM Siddaramaiah.
