Across four seasons traitor 15 years later Strictly Come DancingClaudia Winkleman honed her signature look. From tartan skirts, tweed jackets, knitted bracers and Spanx leggings on the BBC game show to her sharp, androgynous ballroom looks, she’s cemented her status as a modern style icon.
Beyond her fashion, her beauty look was just as eye-catching — jet black hair, thick bangs, black winged eyeliner, nude lips, and of course, her Fake tan. The presenter often jokes that she looks “orange” and gets a tan every time she steps out. In fact, she’s been known to use gravy granules instead of actual tanning to achieve her signature look in times of desperation.
Claudia has openly admitted to being addicted to fake tan, and there are certain brands that Claudia is reportedly very fond of (when she’s not reaching for her kitchen condiments). Dr Dennis Gross is one such brand, especially its alpha beta glow pads. “The love of my life is Dr. Dennis Gross’s alpha beta glow pads,” she says Grazia last year.
“Anyone who hasn’t tried them needs to go buy them immediately – one swipe and you’ll faint and openly cry. We all know I love orange,” she said, “but trust me when I say this accustomed to Makes you orange – just one swipe will make you look like you’ve dined outside on a sunny day. They are awesome. ”
Granted, Claudia isn’t the most complimentary about her own fake tan products (she jokes there’s nothing too orange) – but with such high praise for a good tan, I wanted to give these pads a try myself. Like the presenter, I’m addicted to fake tan and wear it every Wednesday, rain or shine, year-round.

Dr Dennis Gross Tans stand out in the mousse, lotion, spray and drops market and come in pad form designed for even and streak-free coverage. But at almost £50 for a pack of 20 (when it’s not on sale), is this self-tanner worth it? I’ve been testing this formula for a week to find out.
how i tested
I swapped my regular tanning drops for Dr Dennis Gross pads and use them at night, after serum and before cream. I always make sure my skin is freshly cleaned (Or better yet, exfoliate) to ensure the formula glides on smoothly. I applied it twice over the course of a week to evaluate how long-lasting the tan was, how easy it was to apply, how effective it was, and how good the price was.
