We were delighted to learn how Château de la Messardière, part of the Airelles Collection, received the French government’s “Palace” rating, an honor awarded to hotels that believe in enhancing France’s global reputation.
A pool would definitely help. There are four pools in total, including a gorgeous shell-shaped mosaic pool in front of the main tower, a 25-meter pool, an indoor pool in the 10,700-square-foot spa, and a fully supervised outdoor pool in the “Kids Club Villas,” which are set in a children’s kingdom.
A movie theater, mini farm, trampoline, tree house and arcade games completed this paradise for little ones, but they had a blast wherever they went – in our luxurious room the staff built a little shack for our young daughter, complete with a yummy bag and adorable bee toy.
One of the hotel’s flagship perks (suitable for all ages) is being transferred to the private beach Jardin Tropezina, located rolls royce Cullinan SUV, but we found ourselves reluctant to leave the hotel’s fantastic surroundings.

When hunger pangs need to be quenched, we enjoy poolside beef with creamy puree paired with Crozes-Hermitage wine, as well as delicious Japanese food and drinks at the hotel’s excellent Matsuhisa Saint-Tropez restaurant. Here we dined on wagyu tacos, king crab tempura, and sake cocktails while we gaped at the boats bobbing in Pamplona Bay below.
This stay was pure bliss from start to finish. Which leads me to another prediction – many viewers will be watching the fourth season of Mike White’s hit series for a second time via Château de la Messardière’s online pre-order page.
