Thiruvananthapuram, October 6 (IANS) CPI-M Kerala unit faced an unexpected embarrassment on Monday when senior party leader and former Devaswom Minister. Sudhakaran took pot shots on the Pinarayi Vijayan government, which connects “number one” with the ongoing Sabarimala gold contradictions.

“Late, we often hear that Kerala is number one in everything. Now we hear that the gold plates have disappeared from the Sabarimala temple – so we are also number one,” Sudhakaran said while playing a loud applause to the audience.

It seems that the CPI-M leaders have been most disturbing that Sudhakaran made these comments in a cultural program organized by the Cultural Wing of the Congress Party in Alappuzha.

His sharp criticism, coming from a long-term party stallwart, is seen as a serious violation of discipline in a politically sensitive moment within the CPI-M.

75 -year -old Sudhakaran, vs. Achuthanandan (2006–11) and the first Pinarayi Vijayan (2016–21) served as ministers in both the cabinet, and are widely considered as a leader with a clean image and a nonsense approach.

However, his political luck recession when the party denied him the ticket despite his long track record and administrative experience in the 2021 assembly elections.

Although Sidehead, Sudhakaran has sometimes criticized the functioning of the second Vijayan government, Monday’s comments are the most direct to him.

Once a staunch Achuthanandan loyalty, Sudhakaran later aligned with Vijayan, as he consolidated control over the party.

However, their recent outbreaks indicate a possible return on disgruntled methods.

The time of his comments also proved uncomfortable for CPI-M, on the same day the Kerala High Court ordered a high-level inquiry, led by Adgp H. Venkatesh did the missing Sabarimala Gold Plating and directed that a report be presented within a month.
