‘I have no one to judge him’: RCB star’s big praise for Jasprit Bumrah after defeat to MI | Cricket News

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Rajat Patidar scores a penalty against Jasprit Patidar after Mumbai Indians (MI) pacers took five wickets in IPL 2024 Jasprit Bumrah expressed high praise. Bumrah took 5/21 as MI defeated RCB by 7 wickets to register back-to-back wins at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The star pacer dismissed Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan and Vijaykumar Vyshak. After the match, Patidar was asked to comment on Bumrah’s performance.

Patidar, however, said he had no one to judge him and termed Bumrah a “legendary bowler”.

“He is a legendary bowler. I have no one to judge him. He is a complete bowler,” Patidar said at the post-match press conference.

For the record, this was Bumrah’s tenth five-wicket haul in the IPL.

Post-match, Bumrah claimed that he is ready to sacrifice his ego as a pacer and is willing to explore options such as slower balls to avoid becoming a “one-trick pony”.

“You don’t always have to bowl a yorker, sometimes you bowl a yorker and sometimes you bowl a short ball. There is no ego in this format. You can bowl at 145 kmph but sometimes it is important to bowl a slower ball,” Bull said Horses give speeches after races.

“This format is very harsh on the bowlers. I try not to be a one-trick pony and I worked on that early in my career,” he added.

“I’m very happy with the result. I would never say I wanted to take five runs. The wickets were sticky and I’m very happy with my contribution.”
