A well-designed spa, central location and attractive design make this luxury hotel the ideal destination for a wellness-focused city break in Iceland’s capital.
Place
Set with huge windows on the Old Harbour, offering views of sleek boats bobbing against the decidedly moody sky. Reykjavik The version reflects the drama of both the city and the sea. It is located right next to the Harpa Concert Hall and just steps away from Laugavegur, Reykjavik’s main shopping artery. It’s a happening area, but in true Icelandic fashion, quite chilled out. Keflavik Airport is about 45 minutes away by car.

stretch
The Reykjavik version is arguably Reykjavik’s most stylish hotelIt blends polished Nordic design with excellent amenities, and is perfectly located to explore all that the city has to offer. If your visit is about enjoying the Icelandic atmosphere, design and good food, but you also want to be within walking distance of cafes, restaurants and Harpa Hall, this hotel delivers. Honey-toned wood, fluffy sheepskin, basalt stone accents and a warming fire in the lobby offer a moody blend of heritage-focused design and elevated casual comfort.
Service
The service is polished. Housekeeping occurs twice a day, and a concierge is also on hand to help with planning and recommendations. Extremely polite and helpful, the wait staff and bartenders can prepare any cocktail of your choice and guide you through the restaurant’s menu.
bed and bath
The rooms are worth a visit. You’ll find floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the harbor, the ocean, or the surrounding mountains. The decor is clean, modern Nordic-style luxury: a warm palette using ash wood and light brown oak, touches of copper, custom furniture, fluffy rugs and artworks from local Icelandic artists. Bathrooms are minimalist but generous, with rainfall showers, white tiling and signature Le Labo toiletries. SThe scent is very important to the edition and in this iteration of the hotel, the signature is a heady blend of black tea and bergamot. You can take home both Le Labo products and Edition candles for a fee to simulate the experience upon your return. It’s also worth noting that although the views are spectacular, they largely depend on which room you book. A room overlooking the harbor or the sea offers something special; Others face inland, or look towards the concert hall, which may be less dramatic but still pleasant.

Food and Drink
The centerpiece of dining is Tides, the signature restaurant, with a menu based on local produce and seafood. There are also several bars, including a rooftop bar, which will be especially magical in summer when the midnight sun is up, as well as in winter when the northern lights can be seen. Tide offers thoughtful cuisine – seasonal vegetables grown in geothermal greenhouses, the freshest fish I’ve tasted in some time, signature Icelandic lamb and delicate flavor pairings overseen by the resident chef. Expect an extraordinary breakfast buffet in the morning, even at high tide. Alternatively, opt for the room service breakfast of Skyr and coffee, which the hotel does very well. A private member’s club behind a well-hidden door promises signature cocktails sipped by the fire nightly. The club, Toli, hosts a talented head bartender and you can expect more sophisticated yet simple vibes from this property.
facilities
There are spa facilities including a fully equipped 24-hour gym, treatment rooms, a hammam, beautiful sauna and hydrotherapy plunge pool. The spa and wellness spaces are well thought out – not over the top, but doing everything you could expect in a luxury city-hotel with an edge. It’s luxurious but a little understated. The treatments are of an excellent standard and the design of the spa makes you feel as if you are trapped in various hot and dark saunas, caves and pools.
