freddie flintoff Has stepped down from his role as head coach of Northern Superchargers and suggested the team’s new coach. Indian The owners made him feel that his value was underestimated.
Flintoff, who is still one of the biggest stars English Cricket led the Headingley-based Hundred franchise in the last two editions of the tournament, but will not be involved next year.
East England The captain revealed the news on the Beard Before Wicket podcast co-hosted by Superchargers spinner Adil Rashid, indicating that he would like to continue after finishing third this year.
But he claimed talks with Sun Group, which has bought a full 100 per cent stake in Superchargers as part of an influx of new investors into the competition, quickly broke down.
“Unfortunately I’m not going to do that, which is sad,” he said.

“In the last two years I felt like we were building something really cool and I would love to see it through.
“We’ve got new owners, I spoke to them. They called, they said they wanted us to do it, so I said: ‘Yeah, OK. Make us an offer.’
“I don’t really do it for the money, although it’s nice, but I think I’m worth (more) than a quarter of the other head coaches’ (salaries).
“Money was one thing so I’m not quite sure they wanted me anyway, but then you also want to feel valued. I said, ‘This isn’t going to work for me’ and they weren’t going to go ahead with it.”
Rashid, one of the team’s key players, told Flintoff, “You will be missed. I did not expect this.”

Flintoff, who is also the England Lions head coach, could be of interest to other Hundred teams as his new influence begins to be felt behind the scenes. London Spirit have already signed Andy Flower away from Trent Rockets and further personnel changes are likely.
Meanwhile, the Superchargers are set to change their name to incorporate the Sunrisers branding of their IPL and SA20 teammates.
