Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Tuesday entered the commercial mobility sector with the launch of its Prime Taxi range. The company has introduced two models named Prime HB (hatchback) and Prime SD (sedan). Bookings are open for ₹5,000 at Hyundai dealerships across India.

Both models use a 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder engine with petrol and CNG options. The vehicles come with company-fitted CNG and speed-limiting function. Hyundai offers a three-year warranty on these factory-fitted systems.

The Prime HB price starts at ₹5,99,900 and the Prime SD price starts at ₹6,89,900. Hyundai says the new range is aimed at fleet operators and taxi entrepreneurs. The company is aiming for low operating costs and stable income for users.

Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO Designate, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “Fleet operators and taxi drivers look for vehicles that offer maximum uptime, predictable maintenance and low operating costs, and the Hyundai Prime range has been developed keeping these priorities in mind.

Hyundai Prime HB, Grand i10 is based on NIOS.

Garg said the launch also marks the company’s formal entry into the commercial mobility sector. The Prime range is supported by Hyundai’s nationwide network. Fleet Care Advisors will assist taxi and fleet customers at the dealership.

Hyundai says the Prime HB Grand i10 is based on NiOS, and the Prime SD is based on Aura. Both vehicles are designed for taxi and fleet operations. The Prime Taxi range will be sold in Atlas White, Typhoon Silver and Abyss Black.

Hyundai says that the Prime HB returns 27.32 km/kg in CNG mode and the Prime SD returns 28.40 km/kg. Maintenance cost up to 100,000 kilometers is pegged at 47 paise per kilometre.
