Hyderabad, September 26 (IANS) India President’s Sammethi (BRS) Executive Chairman KT Ram Rao on Friday alleged that the Congress government in Telangana put a loan burden of Rs 15,000 crore with its ‘non -reservant’ and ‘careless’ decision.
He alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s ‘personal vengeance, arrogance, and dictatorship’ forced the head L&T to withdraw from the Hyderabad Metro project suddenly.
The BRS leader believes that the decision to handle the Hyderabad Metro is associated with the will of L&T to repair Medigada barrage at his expense.
Medigda Barrage is part of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project manufactured during BRS rule.
KTR stated that L&T refused to repair the Medigada at its expense was prevented from the promotion of Rivant Reddy’s promotion of Kaleshwaram as “failure”, and it became the root cause of the Chief Minister’s complaint against the company. From that point, the government targeted and harassed L&T until it was taken out of the state, he said.
Addressing a press conference, KTR expanded the conspiracies and failures of the Congress government behind the exit of L&T.
He recalled how the BRS government supported and protected the metro project since 2014, when only 20-25 percent of the work was completed. With personal assurance from the then CM KCR, L&T accelerated the works, leading to the first phase opening by PM Modi in 2017. Even during Kovid, when the company feared damage, KCR increased a soft loan of Rs 3,000 crore, of which Rs 900 crore was released, for the protection of the project. Under BRS, the metro ridership increased to 5 lakhs per day, expanded up to 69 km, and became India’s second largest network with major IT corridor connectivity.
KTR, with the rule of the Congress, on the contrary, accused the airport metro, blackmail L&T in the repair of Medigada and remove the projects to their followers. He said that despite the 2070 lease, L&T was forced to avenge CM and get out for the metro land due to hunger.
He alleged that the government’s financial negligence now had no more loans on the top of Telangana to borrow Rs 2.2 lakh crore, already nothing was shown in return. According to him, the entire decision was a conspiracy to capture 280 acres of valuable metro land and hand over them to the CM close to CM.
KTR demanded to find out whether commissions and kickbacks were involved, why the decision was taken without a cabinet discussion, and a central government was called to investigate. He announced that BRS would take the issue to the people, explaining how the assets worth Rs 20,000 crore under BRS have been converted into liability of Rs 15,000 crore under Congress.
