How to find a raincoat that is waterproof and stylish

British The weather is the best playful. Incense on your morning coffee, divided drizzle from lunch and a curtain of rain until you are going home from work.

To manage those changes without seeing that you are deviated from a hiking mark, a raincoat should be more than only functional, but should be part of the identity of your wardrobe.

So to find a stylish piece that also bears irregular winter season – we hear from experienced experts how to find the right chic raincoat.

Length and silhouette

Getting the ratio correct is the first most important thing to keep in mind.

Celebrity stylist and image consultant says, “Key is versatility. Rainkot coverage of a middle-thigh or knee length balances between ease of movement,” Celebrity stylists and image advisors say Angela insect,

“Essentially they are enough to mold against a sudden decline, yet it’s not so long that it feels cumbersome and climk in light drizzle.”

Founder of Z Holland Cooper Holland CooperWhose designs are often seen on the princess of Wales, agreeing that the knee length is usually sweet space.

,[It’s] It is enough to protect most of the body from air -moving rain, but it is not so long that it increases or restrictions, and I personally love the option for belt, it looks too much flatter, ”she says.

Belt trench is the most timeless “chic and flattery” style, Kyte says that A-line or cocoon figures “when the weather gets worse and you need more layers to fight cold.”

And the subtle functional details, she says, can be transformative, “a viosable hood or hidden drastring can be a prudent functional edge and give a great utility ‘cool girl’ style.”

Some silhouettes perform better in downpoors than dripping. Holland Cooper says, “Classic trench coat is timeless, elegant, good protection, especially with cuff and tightening a belted waist,” Holland Cooper. “A well -made Mac is perfect for a light shower, but when well -built good rains can handle.

“A park with technical waterproof fabric and tape seam is a great option if you expect or are out. A shell jacket style for layers is light, easy to pack, and is good as over-layers.”

ColourCut and finish

A great raincoat should not have a stand-out piece in your wardrobe, but staple. It should be neutral, timeless and versatile.

Holland Cooper asks to opt for a sophisticated palette. If you want to go for something dark, then “Navy, Charcoal, Forest Green Sprinkle and Dirt, which can mark the coat, and are less-entertained options than black.”

“I also think that these colors look elegant and smart, even in those days where the weather is pathetic. CamelTan and stone also heat the gray sky, they are a classic color that still goes with everything high.

“Olive or khaki, with the right cut and fabric, they have every ability to look elegant and chic instead of rugged and outside.”

On the cut, she says that low hardware, the coat is better to make it look less heavy.

“Beltted or semi-fit styles show shape, I avoid full boxy until it is a deliberate style choice.

“A collar that can be bended, helps protect your neck from rain and also looks smart. Hem style which is not too much, also keep the look more structured.”

Best to go for

The choice of clothes reduces everything. Kyte says that you do not need to limit yourself to a type of waterproofing that makes you look very technical.

“Each cloth brings a different character,” she explains. “Waxed cotton is heritage choice and we are currently looking at it with classic barn coat style.

“They are beautifully matte, they become soft with age and they can add a stylish touch while keeping you dry.

“Modern recycled synthetics and bonded cotton are mild and crisp, ideal for a more ‘sharp’ look of the city.

“Gor-tex and other technical membranes are the highest-demonstrations, and when styled in sophisticated cuts, they can look sharp like traditional clothing during the storm-proof,” says kattas. “Trick is selecting a finish that aligns with your wardrobe whether it is a matte or a subtle glow.”

Kyte recommends “a sewn trench coat in a waterproof cloth”, “is unmatched for its double personality, so think of boardroom-taiyar during the week, and weekendly chic with denim or knit over the weekend.”

There is a single-canon with ordinary lines, she says, “another timely option, as it is easily slipped on suiting or more casual look.

“The key is to avoid excessive sporty details, so look for hidden fastenings, minimal branding and elegant ratio so that the coat is originally infected between opportunities.”

Holland Cooper agrees, “I will definitely go for a waterproof trench coat in the office or for a smart opportunity. They are full-length, keep you dry and still feel chic when the sewn lines during being practical.”
