Filmmaker Chris Thykier, who worked on the 2021 war drama operation mincemeat, told Independent He chatted with Bishop at a party after a movie premiere in 2016.
“I asked him how he got into comedy because I hadn’t really heard the story. And he told me this and I said, ‘Well, it’s a movie,'” Thykier said.
He said, “It became not a very small British story, but something more universal.”
