A house exploded in Southern California In the neighborhood, eight people were injured and two nearby homes were damaged, with firefighters evacuating a total of 16 homes.
Firefighters in Chino Hills have not said what caused the explosion Sunday, but said the gas leak has been stopped. Pictures and videos from the scene show the house turned into a pile of debris.
“Crews remain on scene to continue the overhaul and investigation,” the Chino Valley Fire District posted online.
The fire department said four people were taken from the home to the hospital and four others were brought to the hospital on their own. His condition was not immediately known.
KABC-TV reported that witnesses said they saw people running from the exploded house, including children screaming for help.
