Home delivery delay: Ed has assets of Gurugram developer Rs 255 crore

New Delhi, September 18 (IANS) The properties of a township developer of Rs 255.28 crore were attached by the ED in relation to cheating and fraud with the buyers of the house, which was not distributed to the promised houses and plots on time, said an official on Thursday.

The official said in a statement that the action of action by the Directorate of Ramprahtha promoters and developers Private Limited Limited (RPDPL), the Direction of the Directorate of Gurugram Zonal Office was taken under the provisions of the Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 prevention.

The T.P.P.P.P.DPL had collected Rs 1,100 crore from more than 2,600 homebukes for various projects.

The statement said that provisionally attached assets include plots/ land and RPDPL residential flats/ commercial buildings, its group companies and directors/ directors/ directors/ key managerial persons.

The official said that the ED started an investigation on the basis of several FIRs registered by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOV), New Delhi and Haryana Police.

It was alleged in the FIR that RPDPL and its promoters cheated various home buyers/plots buyers to fail to distribute the flats and plots promised within the promised timeframe 10-14 years ago.

The ED investigation has revealed that RPDPL had approved various projects such as Project Edge, Project Skyse, Project Rise and Rampragrath City (Plotted Colony Project) in 37D, 92, 93 and 95 in 2008-2011 in 2008-2011. However, the company failed to complete the deadline.

The promoters/directors of RPDPL collected hundreds of crores collected from homebupers in their group companies, which instead of using the same to the fulfillment of the promised houses, occurred as advances for the purchase of land parcels, which eventually led to failure to distribute flats and plots, Ed. said.

Earlier in this case, the ED arrested Arvind Walia and Sandeep Yadav to RPDPL directors and majority shareholders under the provisions of PMLA, 2002 on 21 July. Both arrested persons are in judicial custody.

In addition, the ED had conducted the search and issued an provisional attachment order, resulting in various bank balance, Moved Assets, Attachment/Freezing of RPDPL’s immovable properties, an amount of Rs 572.21 crore against its group companies and directors/directors. Total attachment/seizure in this case till date. 827.49 crore, Ed said.
