HMP Lewes: Ambulance crews rushed to East Sussex prison after ‘medical incident’

According to reports, police are assisting ambulance crews to deal with a “chemical incident” at HMP Lewes, which affected 10 to 15 people.

An incident support vehicle bearing the letters “CBRN” – which stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear – was spotted outside the prison on Thursday afternoon, The Argus reported.

A spokesman for Sussex Poiice said: “Sussex Police are assisting the ambulance service following a report of a medical incident at HMP Lewes at around 12.30pm on Thursday (March 28).”
