Kolkata, 22 September (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Kolkata on Friday (September 26) to inaugurate three community Durga Puja pandals in the city on the same day.
A member of a BJP state committee said that two of the three worship committees to be inaugurated by the Union Home Minister on Friday are final.
The first is a community Durga Puja, organized by the “Paschim Banga Sangskirik Manch” (West Bengal Cultural Forum), which receives the direct support of the West Bengal unit of the BJP.
The puja was launched in 2020, which is before the important West Bengal assembly elections next year. In the first year, this puja was mainly inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Delhi.
Inner sources of the state’s BJP said that the second community Durga Puja said that the Union Home Minister would inaugurate on Friday, who will be Santosh Mitra class community Durga Puja in Labutala Park in North Kolkata, whose main organizer is BJP councilor in Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
Santosh Mitra class community Durga Puja has always been known for her innovative themes, a “Operation Sindoor” about this year, the strike through which the Indian armed forces demolished many terrorist bases in both Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir earlier this year.
Last year, the theme of Santosh Mitra class community Durga Puja was a Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Sojal Ghosh was the first community Durga Puja organizer to deny the annual Durga Puja Dole presented by the state government, a practice with which it still continues.
Later, several other community worship organizers followed his example.
However, BJP’s state unit is maintaining total secrecy on the third community Durga Puja Pandal that Amit Shah will inaugurate on Friday.
The information about this count that has come up so far is that the said puja will be held in South Kolkata and will be inside or near Bhabnipur assembly constituency, from where the elected MLA is Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
According to the schedule, HM Shah will reach Kolkata on Friday morning and will return to Delhi the same evening after inaugurating three priests.
