Bengaluru, 1 October (IANS) The Government of Karnataka on Wednesday selected the famous Indian historian, columnist and thinker Ramchandra Guha for the Mahatma Gandhi Seva Award – Karnataka for the year 2025.
The official statement said that this prestigious award, information and public relations department has been given every year, which has been presented to those individuals and organizations who said on Wednesday.
The state government has organized various programs to celebrate the birth anniversary of the nation’s father, across the state, across the state, with the participation of common people, school and college students.
As part of the festival, Ramchandra Guha, who has played an important role in spreading socially oriented ideas among Gandhiji’s principles, values and people, has been selected for this year’s award, the statement said.
Guha has earned a specific place internationally through its study and writing on contemporary Indian history, political movements, environmental struggles and cricket.
Their major functions are: ‘India after India’ (History of India after independence), ‘A corner of a foreign sector’ (social history of Indian cricket), ‘before India’ Gandhi ‘(part of Mahatma Gandhi’s biography),’ Gandhi: The Year that the New World ‘(Part 2 of his biography),’ Ankleet Woods’ (study of the ground level).
“These tasks not only enrich the study of history, but also inspire thoughts and reflections in society because they are written in a style that is easily accessible to the general reader.
The cavity has a unique position in deep analysis of Gandhian principles and explaining them in relation to contemporary India. Gandhi’s biography of his two-volume biography has been translated into many languages including Kannada.
Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department Hemant M. Nimbalkar said that the state government is committed to present Gandhiji’s ideals for the younger generation through this award and strengthen the spirit of truth, non -violence, peace and service.
“Ramchandra Guha has an inspiration to promote Gandhiji’s ideals, dialogue and study in the award society,” he said.
