“His ideals will always guide us”: Rahul Gandhi pays homage to Jawaharlal Nehru at his 61st death anniversary.

The Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday paid tribute to the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru on the anniversary of his 61st death.

In a post on X, Gandhi also recalled Nehru’s “visionary leadership” in creating a strong base for independent India.

Earlier today, Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi paid tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru in his memorial peace van in Delhi.

Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge also paid tribute to Nehru, called him the architect of modern India. He said that the 21st century India cannot be imagined without the contribution of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Jawaharlal Nehru was a freedom fighter who played an important role in India’s freedom movement. He also went to the first Prime Minister of India after independence in 1947.

Nehru held this position for more than 16 years and died on 27 May 1964 due to a heart attack. After that, Lal Bahadur Shastri took over as the second Prime Minister of India.

Nehru is considered to be the leader of India’s Non-Equaling Movement (NAM). For children for their love, Nehru was also called ‘Chacha Nehru’, and his birth anniversary is celebrated as Children’s Day every year in India. (AI)
