Online telehealth company Hims & Hers Health HIMS.N is launching its own weight loss subscription and treatment plan in the UK that will include drugs like Novo Nordisk’s NOVOb.CO Vegovy, the company said on Wednesday.
The drug will be available starting at £149 per month for a one-year commitment.
The company provides sexual health, skin care and hair loss treatment for men in the UK.
Earlier this year it bought Zava, a London-based company that prescribes and distributes weight-loss drugs in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Ireland.
Himes’ weight-loss program will provide patients in addition to Orlos with Eli Lilly’s LLY.N Monjaro, an older over-the-counter weight-loss drug with the generic name orlistat. Himes said in its release that customers will be able to access the medications after clinical evaluation.
Hims UK. The model is similar to its offering in the US where patients pay for a subscription and as part of it they receive personalized prescriptions and clinical programming, such as follow-up visits related to their treatment.
In the UK, both Novo and Lilly’s drugs cost much less than in the US, although access to them through the country’s National Health Services is limited.
Lilly said in August it was raising Zepbound’s list price in the UK, but the price is still expected to be lower through online pharmacies, which show prices for its and Novo’s drugs at 109 pounds ($145) to 149 pounds ($198) a month.
In the US, Lilly’s ZipBound costs $299 to $449 per month on its website, while Novo’s Wegovi costs $199 to $349 per month on its site.
