Shimla, Nov 24 (IANS) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Monday decided to merge the Anti-Narcotics Task Force with the Special Task Force to create an integrated Special Task Force under the Home Department.
The objective of the task force is to enhance operational efficiency and establish a single agency to comprehensively deal with drug-related challenges. It also approved panchayat-wise anti-Chitta campaign across the state.
The Cabinet has increased the compensation for loss of household goods during natural calamities from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Apart from reorganizing the panchayats in the state, the cabinet also decided to provide assistance of Rs 7 lakh as a special package in case the entire house is damaged in fire incidents.
It was decided to provide 150 days of employment under MNREGA and approval was given for construction of retaining walls up to Rs 2 lakh for individual works. It was decided to induct 1,000 Patient Mitras in the health department to ensure better patient care in health institutions across the state.
The Cabinet approved creation and filling of 800 posts of constables in the police department. Approval was given for opening of sub-fire stations at Kandaghat in Solan district and Rajgarh in Sirmaur district along with creation and filling of 46 posts of various categories for these centers and procurement of four fire tenders.
It was also decided to fill 150 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) as job trainee in Jal Shakti Department and Public Works Department. The Cabinet approved creation and filling of 73 posts of Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident along with creation of nine super-specialty departments in Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur.
It was decided to create and fill 27 posts of Senior Residents in the Super-Speciality Department of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda in Kangra district. The Cabinet also announced to provide 40 per cent subsidy for converting 1,000 petrol and diesel taxis into electric taxis under the Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme – 2023.
