Officials said Shimla, October 7 (IANS) at least 18 passengers were killed as a private bus, in which they were traveling, they were said to be on Tuesday in a landslide on Tuesday in the grip of landslide in BJP’s Bilaspur.

The accident occurred in the Bhalughat area in the Jhandutt assembly section.
Around 35 passengers were traveling in the bus which was in the way from Maroton to Ghumarwin.
State officials and machinery have been deployed to clean the debris, and a rescue operation is going on to locate the missing passengers.
Officials said that 18 bodies have been recovered from Mangald remains of the bus so far.
Eyewitnesses said that the mountain crashed into the bus, and the possibility of passengers survived was tarnished.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu expressed grief over the incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved.
He said that he is in constant touch with the district administration and issued instructions to speed up relief and rescue operations.
The Chief Minister has ordered that the injured be taken to hospitals immediately and adequate arrangements should be made for their treatment.
The accident occurred due to a landslide in the bear near Barthi. It has been reported that 25 to 30 passengers were in the bus. The bus was completely crushed by falling on its roof with debris and stones.
Local administration, police and state disaster response forces (SDRF) teams reached the spot to complete the rescue operations, which continued till late night.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was saddened by the loss of life in the accident and announced a pre-Rs 2 lakhs to the families of those deceased.
