Jaipur, Nov 11 (IANS) Following the blast outside Delhi’s Red Fort, security agencies in Rajasthan are on high alert and are paying special attention to major religious places, including the iconic Khatu Shyam temple in Sikar district. Police, district administration and Shri Shyam Mandir Committee are now in full alert mode. To ensure the safety of the devotees, security arrangements have been tightened in and around the temple premises. Under the new measures, devotees are not allowed to carry bags inside the temple. All luggage is being thoroughly checked with hand-held metal detectors at the entry gate. Furthermore, the entire area around the temple has been declared a no-vehicle zone, and police personnel have been deployed at all entry points to manage crowd movement and prevent overcrowding. On Tuesday, police station in-charge Pawan Choubey along with the police team conducted a thorough inspection of the temple premises. He reviewed the strong security arrangements and instructed the teams to maintain vigil during the influx of devotees. The administration has also planned a meeting with local shopkeepers to discuss possible changes in market closing timings to streamline crowd management and ensure safety during peak hours. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across Rajasthan, especially at major temples like Jaipur’s Govind Dev Ji temple. Devotees are being allowed entry only after strict security check. RAC personnel have also been deployed outside Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Dargah in Ajmer. Armed RAC personnel have been deployed to monitor the Dargah market, while Superintendent of Police Vandita Rana has directed all circle officers (COs) and station in-charges to maintain constant patrolling and vigilance in their respective areas until further notice. Security forces have imposed blockades across the district, carrying out intensive vehicle checking and search operations as part of precautionary measures. Search operations and patrolling are being conducted at all major railway stations including Ajmer Junction. Dog squads were deployed to inspect platforms, parking areas and passenger luggage to ensure that no suspicious activity or items were overlooked. Pushkar has been put on high alert in view of the Delhi bomb blasts. Police and security forces have been instructed to remain alert at major religious and tourist sites including the Brahma Temple and the Israeli Temple at Bed Khabad. Patrolling in and around these sensitive locations has been increased as officials maintain round-the-clock security vigil. After the Delhi blast, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed officials to keep strict vigil at all sensitive places. He directed the police to strengthen security at religious places, railway stations, bus stands, shopping malls and tourist places to prevent any untoward incident. The Delhi blasts have prompted a statewide security review with coordinated efforts between the local police, intelligence agencies and administrative officials. While the investigation into the Delhi incident is ongoing, Rajasthan is on high alert to ensure public safety. –IANS arch/svn
