Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is very much the man of the hour at St James’ Park.
The 23-year-old is going from strength to strength after a somewhat difficult start to life on Tyneside.
Isak joined Newcastle to much fanfare last summer in a £63million switch from Real Sociedad.
However, a hamstring injury back in September forced him out of action until the New Year.
Now, Isak is fully fit and has made the difference for Newcastle in their last two games.
The £120,000-a-week ace scored the opener against Wolves last week.
And on Friday, his brace sealed a 2-1 win for Newcastle at Nottingham Forest.
Isak helped Newcastle draw level with a superb goal in first-half injury time.
Although he was denied an outstanding assist, he went on to score a late winner from the penalty spot.
Tim Sherwood, speaking on the official Premier League website, loved what he saw from Isak.
“Excellent from Newcastle, they were outstanding – especially that man Isak,” he said.
“He’s really growing on me, with his all-round performance.
“When you’re a centre-forward you need game time to get in a rhythm.
“They love a centre-forward up there and he looks like he can score the goals for them from now until the end of the season.”

Onwards and upwards
Isak was one of the most highly sought-after young strikers in world football, and Newcastle won the race for him.
Admittedly, he didn’t have the rub of the green in his earlier days at St James’ Park.
Luckily, Isak is now up to speed and showing the league exactly what he can do.
