The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over southern areas of the country including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and interior Karnataka on Thursday, December 4. It has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan.

The IMD has also predicted scattered rainfall activity over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, South Kerala, South Tamil Nadu and islands for the next three days.

Delhi will be mainly cloudy

According to the latest bulletin of IMD, mainly clear sky and light fog is expected in the morning in Delhi in the next few days. The weather office has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, predicting cold wave conditions at isolated places tomorrow. The minimum temperature in Delhi today is expected to be around 5-7 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to be between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry till December 5. Kerala and South Interior Karnataka will also face similar warning for December 4. Scattered rain with thunder and lightning is likely over major parts of South India in the next 24 hours.

Cold wave in Punjab, Rajasthan

According to IMD, cold wave conditions are likely to persist in different parts of many states in the coming days. Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh will experience cold wave conditions at isolated places on December 4 and 5; North Rajasthan from 4 to 6 December; And Jharkhand on 6 and 7 December.

Dense fog is expected in isolated areas of Assam, Meghalaya and Odisha on 4th and 5th December and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Himachal Pradesh till 6th December in the morning.
