While traveling by plane, passengers should follow some basic etiquette and try their best not to bother or disturb anyone sitting around them. Recently, a woman sparked debate online by revealing that she had argued with a fellow passenger over sitting in the back of her seat Independent informed of.
In a TokTok video, solo traveler Taylor Futch asked what she should do when people sitting behind her on a flight told her she couldn’t recline her seat for her 10-hour flight. She posted a close-up video of her face with an on-screen caption that read: ”Yes, this girl pushed my seat forward and told me to sit in the back for my 10 hour flight. Not allowed because it’s too much. So much for that. what do I have to do? What would you do?”
After an argument, the other passenger called the flight attendant, who told Ms. Futch that she was allowed to sit in the back of her seat, but she needed to put it on for ”food service.” However, the woman behind him reportedly continued to slouch in her seat. Forward throughout the flight, and Ms. Futch kept pulling him back into a crouched position.
Internet users were divided on the matter, with some saying that his decision to move his seat back was much more justified. Others said she was being rude and that it’s important to be respectful of the passenger behind you.
One user defended her, saying, “You all are crazy… If I paid for a reclining seat I would recline it!!! And if the person behind you also lies down in his place… then he also has the same amount of space.”

Others wondered what the fuss was about, as it was common for people to lean back in their seats during long flights.
A third said: “Don’t know what everyone else is thinking about. Virtually everyone on every long-haul flight I’ve been on leans backward. People sit only when the food arrives.”
“You deserve to be comfortable,” a fourth wrote. To recline or not is up to the seat holder. My comfort is my comfort.” A fifth said, ”I can’t open the tray or reach my bag if someone leans over me. It’s hard enough to blow up an economy without someone pressing their seat in your face.”
”If you want to recline, pay extra for seats with extra leg room, when people recline in regular seats it’s very rude to the person behind you,” said another.
