Haryana: Two -time CM Hooda retained as Leader of Opposition

September 29 (IANS) in Jubilee for MPs of Chandigarh, Haryana Congress, the party’s leadership on Monday retained two -time Chief Minister and Mass leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the leader of the opposition.

A declaration was made by a high command after a lot of delay and deliberations within the party cadres for months.

However, the party appointed Rao Narendra Singh as the chairman of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, replacing Hooda’s close confidant Udhai Bhan, an official communication signed by the party’s general secretary KC Venugopal quoted the appointments by the party president.

The party has expressed appreciation for the contribution of the outgoing state head Bhan. After thwarting the enemies within the party, 78 -year -old Congress leader Hooda, who served as the Chief Minister from 2004 to 2014, campaigned across the state to ensure the party’s return to power in October 2024.

Veteran Congress leader Hooda is making a great attack on the agricultural policies of the Haryana BJP government. He claims that the state is deliberately creating obstacles for farmers during crop procurement season.

Huda highlighted the systemic issues that damaged the economic interests of farmers such as delayed tenders, insufficient picnic bags, and late payment.

His criticism has suggested a calculation strategy by the ruling party to reduce the financial stability of agricultural communities.

He maintained his nearest rival, Manju on October 8, 2024, with a difference of 70,626 votes, defeating Manju, defeating Manju, defeating his nearest rival, Manju, maintaining his stronghold, deep Sampala-Kiloi constituency.

He also remained the Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2004.
