Chandigarh, Nov 20 (IANS) Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij on Thursday expressed happiness over Nitish Kumar taking oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time, saying it “reflects the victory of people’s faith and trust”.
He said that the people of Bihar have clearly supported the politics of NDA, while the offices of parties opposing NDA are closed after the election results.
According to Minister Vij, the public has completely rejected the politics of deceit and lies.
Speaking to the media, Minister Vij described the issue of vote rigging raised by the Congress in the state as “completely baseless”.
He said that Congress has not filed even a single written complaint so far.
“They claim that many votes were cast, but they do not clarify who cast these votes or in whose name they were cast.”
Giving an example, Minister Vij said that in a village under Mullana assembly constituency of Ambala district, a woman was found to have 232 votes and both the MLA and MP of that area are from Congress.
“In such a situation, how can it be determined who benefited from the fraudulent votes?”
He accused Congress of creating unnecessary controversy without any facts and trying to mislead the public.
Commenting on the visible rift in the grand alliance after the Bihar elections, Minister Vij said that during the election campaign, the fishing video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was much discussed and perhaps he should pay attention to it.
Minister Vij also said that Congress has completely failed on the issue of Special Intensive Review (SIR) and ‘the public understands that the party is only doing drama to hide its defeat.’
On the infighting within the Haryana Congress and the absence of photographs of leaders on party banners, Minister Vij commented that the Congress “is no longer a united political party. Rather, it has turned into a collection of small groups and factions”.
He said the Congress “lacks discipline as well as faith in democratic principles”.
Responding to Pakistan’s concerns about a possible Indian response after the attack on the Red Fort, Minister Vij said that those who indulge in such actions can expect an appropriate response.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already made it clear that no person directly or indirectly involved in terrorist acts against the country will be spared.
