The Haryana government said it has announced a bonus for sugarcane farmers on the eve of Diwali by increasing the rates of their crop by up to ₹415 per quintal.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a gift to sugarcane farmers on Diwali, an official statement said, adding that the state government has decided to provide farmers with the highest sugarcane prices in the country.

It said the price of early varieties has been increased from ₹400 per quintal to ₹415 per quintal, while the price of late varieties has been increased from ₹393 per quintal to ₹408 per quintal.

“With this important decision, the Haryana government has taken a historic step by offering the highest sugarcane price in the country – a major step aimed at increasing the income of farmers and ensuring their economic prosperity,” an official statement said.

It said this price increase is a Diwali gift to sugarcane farmers, recognizing their hard work and dedication while strengthening their economic position.

The Chief Minister said that this decision is not only in the interest of the farmers but it will also give a new impetus to the agricultural economy of the state.

Saini further said that his government is committed to the welfare of farmers.

He said that the support price of sugarcane is the highest in the country and the government is trying to bring prosperity and happiness in their lives.

The move will not only encourage sugarcane growers but will also set an example for other states, the statement said, adding that the decision will make the festival of Diwali even more bright and sweet.
