In a heart -wrenching incident, seven members of a family of Dehradun were found dead in a car in Sector 27 of Panchkula district of Haryana on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Praveen Mittal (42), his parents, wife, two daughters and a son.
Outside a house in the residential area, all seven bodies were found inside a closed car parked on the side of the road.
Panchkula DCP Himadari Kaushik and DCP Law and Order Amit Dahiya immediately reached the place and started an investigation.
Panchkula, Deputy Commissioner of Himadari Kaushik (DCP) said, “We came to know that six people have been brought to Ozas Hospital. When we arrived here, we came to know that they are all dead. Another person was brought to Civil Hospital, Sector 6.
Police recovered a suicide note from the car. However, the entire content of the note was not revealed.
According to police, the family appeared under immense financial pressure, which could motivate them to commit suicide.
According to preliminary investigation, the family consumed poison in a suspected case of collective suicide, possibly inspired by heavy debt and financial crisis.

Dehradun traveled to Panchkula with his family to attend a Hanuman Katha program organized by Bageshwar Dham. The event was recently concluded, and the family was reportedly returning to Dehradun when they took an extreme step.
The forensic team has reached the spot and has collected samples for investigation. All seven bodies were sent to Morchari of private hospitals in Panchkula.
Postmortem examinations were expected to conduct postmortem examinations to confirm the cause of death and assist in the ongoing investigation. Further investigation of the case is going on. (AI)
