A Harvard Medical School The building has been reopened while a “very active” investigation continues into the weekend explosion, which officials say was intentional.

According to university police, an officer responding to a fire alarm Saturday morning encountered two people running from the Goldenson Building. The explosion occurred on the fourth floor of the building, which houses laboratories and offices associated with the medical school’s neurobiology department.

boston Police said the fire department determined the explosion was intentional and officers did not find additional devices in their investigation of the building. No one was injured.

Medical school officials said in a statement, “The small portion of the fourth-floor hallway where the explosion occurred has been cleared and is fully operational. The building sustained no structural damage, and all laboratories and equipment are intact.”

One FBI The spokesperson declined to comment Monday other than to describe the investigation as “very active.” Police Released grainy photos of two people with their faces covered and wearing what appeared to be sweatshirts.
