New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) The family of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, which has been the custodian of the sacred Padukas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji for more than three hundred years, on Thursday announced presenting these sacred relics for the Sangat’s darshan at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Sahib.
Making the formal announcement, Hardeep Singh Puri said the Jora Sahib will be taken from Delhi to Patna Sahib as part of the “Charan Suhawa, Guru Charan Yatra”, allowing devotees to have darshan of the holy relic en route.
The Union Minister said the yatra will also include the presence of Guru Granth Sahib and the Panj Pyare (Five Beloveds).
On the night of 22nd October, there will be a special Kirtan Samagam at Gurudwara Moti Bagh Sahib, where devotees will be able to have darshan of Jora Sahib.
Charan Suhawa Yatra will start from Gurudwara Moti Bagh on 23rd October and reach Faridabad by night.
On October 24, it will travel from Faridabad to Agra; Bareilly on 25th; Manhangpur on 26th; Lucknow on 27th; Kanpur on 28th; Prayagraj on 29th; On 30th it will reach Sasaram via Banaras; It will reach Gurudwara Guru Ka Bagh, Patna Sahib on 31st; And on the morning of 1st November, it will reach Takht Sri Patna Sahib concluding the Yatra.
The announcement made by the Union Minister was made in the presence of Delhi Gurdwara Committee Chairman Harmeet Singh Kalka, General Secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon, Takht Patna Sahib Committee Chairman Jagjot Singh Sohi, General Secretaries Inderjit Singh, Harpal Singh Johal, Impreet Singh Bakshi, Yatra Coordinator Jasbir Singh Dham, Kanwaldeep Singh Malik from Agra. Singh Kalra from Bareilly, Gurvinder Singh Vicky Chhabra, vice president of Uttar Pradesh Punjabi Academy, Delhi committee member Gurpreet Singh Jassa and others.
