The Department of Handicrafts and Handloom Department, Kashmir, today, gave an invitation to all craft lovers to visit Kashmir Haat, Srinagar on August 7 for the sale of the 11th National Handloom Day.
Stalls of all 10 districts of Kashmir division along with registered cooperative societies will be on demonstrations for the sale of trainee products made in 432 training centers of the department.
In a press release issued here today, Deputy Director (Training), Mirza Shahid Ali said that trainee product sales will start at 11.00 am, in which various craft products such as hand woven woolen carpets, sozni kashidakari shawls, hand woven Pashmina, cruel, namda, gabba, gabba, gabba, gabba, Gabba, Gabba, Gabba, Gabba, Gabba, Gabba will be available on names. “Products are available at affordable prices because no labor costs or surcharge are added,” they explained.
Handicrafts Department and Handloom Department, Kashmir, through the sale of such trainee products, have submitted revenue remittances of more than 1.00 crores to the government treasury in the last three years.
Apart from district stalls, IICT and CDI stalls are also available with live demo by school of design. He said, “Poshaish brand products of Handloom Development Corporation will also be available for sale at concessional rates,” he said.
Describing the sale of trainee products as a tribute to the under-training and department craft trainers, Mirza Shahid Ali said that such withdrawal sales support the welfare of artisans and weavers, besides the ‘local’ campaign.
Urked the general public to become the early birds of Kashmir Haat, the Deputy Director said that the stocks are limited and cannot last till the entire period of the exhibition till 10 August.
