Hamas Gaza gives a "positive response" to the 60-day ceasefire proposal proposal

Hamas announced that he presented a “positive response” to the 60-day ceasefire resolution with Israel in Gaza, indicating progress towards a possible agreement after months of stalled efforts, CNN said.

In a statement on Friday, Hamas said that he had responded positively to the mediators and expressed readiness to start negotiations on the implementation of the structure.

Hamas has “offered a positive response to the mediators, and the movement is completely prepared to enter a round of talks about the mechanism to apply this structure,” the group said.

CNN reported that Israel had earlier accepted the US-supported proposal, clearing the way for both sides to start the final negotiation to start a ceasefire to start the final negotiations.

As reported by CNN, the Palestinian-American negotiator, who has been in direct contact with Hamas, welcomed the response in a Facebook post, stating that, “We are now very close to ending this cursed war.”

He said that Hamas “considered the amendments necessary.”

After the initial release, Israel will withdraw from parts of North Gaza, and both sides will begin negotiating on a permanent ceasefire.

Hamas is directed to release hostages without any public performance or ceremonies. CNN reported that additional hostages will be released on four other dates mentioned in the proposal.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump warned Hamas that the ceasefire deal was rejected, warning “it would not be better – it would only be worse,”

“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not be better – it will only be worse. Thank you for paying attention to this matter!” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

According to Al Jazeera, at least 57,130 Palestinians died and injured over 130,000 since October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched an attack in Southern Israel, killing around 1,139 people. In Gaza, hundreds of thousands have been displaced several times, with widespread destruction of cities, hospitals and schools.
